OVER Reviewing all my games

A group where we play and review all our games

If you enjoy PC gaming, chances are, you have a huge steam library of games you've never played (and don't even remember buying). Well, one day, after accumulating over 600 games, I told myself: "NO MORE!", so I went on this, "never-ending" journey, where I would play and review all my Steam games.

I started with strict rules but found them too difficult so I resorted to a few simple rules.

1) Play all your games in order*
2) Review every single game you play
3) Try to complete each game you play**
4) If it's a multiplayer game, play a few matches before you review it
5) Have fun - if at any point you aren't having fun, you are doing something wrong ***

*You can skip games you played on different systems (consoles, outside steam,...) but disclose your reasons to why you did it in your review. You can also skip multiple copies of the same game (ex. Borderlands 1, Borderlands 1 Definitive Edition) and just play one version. You may also, skip playing a cluster of sequels if they are too similar so you don't get too bored with the same game (ex. Tomb Raider 1, Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 3,...) and just play one game and play the rest during your second run, maybe?

**The key word is "TRY". Time is precious, especially if you are a parent, and some games last an absolute eternity. Feel free to finish all your 100+ JRPGs if you want but if you at any point you aren't having fun or just get bored, don't be afraid to move on to the next game, nobody will judge you. There are also games that you may not enjoy that much, or at all. If that ever happens (and it probably will quite often) feel free to skip it but let everyone know in your review.
*** The most important rule. The whole point of this group is to have fun. You are expected to play through games you otherwise would never even consider playing and be surprised by the outcome. This isn't to say that you have to keep playing a game you don't like. If you don't like a game, don't play it. All you are required to do is give a game a fair chance and write your thoughts on it. Even a bad game can be a good experience.

I'll probably add a few more rules as time goes by.

https://store.steampowered.com/curator/37740819-Meg-Egg-Gaming/ .. there's our own attempt at trying to make it through this massive library.

I've become more interested in preserving and collecting games / artifacts of gaming history than actually playing them as I get older, it seems.

I have a library of over 50,000 games spanning numerous platforms, with my Steam libraries (I have 6 accounts to separate Windows multiplayer, Windows SP-only, and Linux & MacOS with same separation). I manage a group focused on multiplayer & MMO game preservation, so that's the main reason I have so many games, but it's definitely depressing seeing how few have actually been played.

I've started going through each of the buy-to-play titles with any form of multiplayer on Steam to help document the games for historical / archival purposes, as well as to audit the platform. Oddly enough, a game I figured would be a complete joke (Euro Truck Sim 2) ended up being my favorite so far out of the 163 games I've made it through. 35 were literally broken, unplayable, or utilized stolen assets and code almost entirely. About 30 were high quality and loads of fun, so it balances out.

Best of luck!

Thanks, feel free to join us if you would like to share your review. Reviewing games can be tough so don't let it become a chore. Take breaks and don't stress over it. Either way, have fun, that's the most important thing.

Hey! I actually started a similar mission (although still not gotten that far) of reviewing most of my games that I feel deserves a review. It can be a bit to much work sometimes but i'm steady going there. Inspiring to see your well constructed and informative reviews :) Good job so far!

Glad you enjoyed my review. Thanks for the comment. Playing all your games is a suicide mission si don't feel pressured into doing it. Just have fun.

Wow & here I was thinking the last few months that I just keep buying more & more games. My main thought has been WHY do I keep doing this?! See I buy them them play them maybe 3x get bored than buy another 1.
I originally built my gaming PC in Feb. 2016 & it was my 1st PC building experience. I accidentality fried my Motherboard (last August or so) while clearing the CMOS to reset the BIOS so I didn't have a working PC for roughly 6 months. **CRIES a little**

I found your review of, "Summer of Mara", & got excited cause now I have goal for all the money I thought I kind of wasted. Not sure I'm going to review them all cause I have more games I know I'll never play again uninstalled than I do installed & that's just on Steam. I use Epic Games & Origin as well.
So in conclusion I would like to thank you for your awesome idea & group plus all the effort you are putting in to all your game reviews!
