On this link you can read about the Live action special announced. The episode appears to be somewhat simplified, and who knows if it will be any good, but given the ammount of active fans and fan works being produced these days, we can't exactly be complaining.

It's a little strange to have these actors be around 22. But time will tell if this has an impact, I'm more worried about how the martial arts will look.

It's only available in japan, unsubbed, but you can probably get it throug Amazon.co.jp or Ebay if you have a collection to add to.

News is Rare in the Ranma 1/2 scene, So this is one of the few things left.
