Purmo Maffia was founded in year 1967 by Don Faffaleone. In its early years the group was mainly committing petty thefts and muggings, what they earned was invested wisely by Faffaleone in a whole new racketeering branch. After some time the group was profiting heavily from their protection business, organization, and assets which were bought with the intent of laundering money.

In 1987 the police was unable to trace any evidence back to Faffa eventhough they had implemented a complete task force with that as their only objective. He always made sure never to give any instructions himself always using a trusty middleman. After years his empire had grown explosively, he had many henchmen and underbosses, all of them loyal to him.

In 2004 one of his henchmen known as Swindle, a con-man, turned out to be a mole working for the FBI. Faffa quickly had Swindle executed. After the disappearance of Swindle the police executed an enormous raid on Faffa's business. Even though the police found and destroyed most of the business, they were unable to find Faffa himself.

Today the Purmo Maffia consist of a few hardened veterans and some new recruits who don't know much about the past history and founding of the group. Don Faffaleone is still rumored to be the mastermind behind everything this time aswell, although, nothing has yet been confirmed or proven. However no one in the group claim to have seen him, not even the higher ranking members. If Faffa is around he must be working with one of the veterans, somehow still giving orders and planning their next job.
