Orion: Prelude - Official Release

Orion: Prelude has just been released to the public. It's now save for beta-participants to change back to the public build without having to download almost the entire old game ;)

A preliminary and incomplete changelog for this huge update was posted on facebook[www.facebook.com] before the beta started. There have been some additional changes since then.

Trek already started sending out their 20,000 Spiral Coins rewards to all existing owners, but the process may take a few days to finish. It starts with the oldest purchased game and moves onwards to today. Everyone who owned the game on August 24th will automatically receive this reward.

One of the biggest features of the new update is not yet included: The map SDK will take a little longer until it can be released, but interested mappers can apply[trek-industries.com] for a closed beta test:

Everyone who purchased the game before July 1st 2012 can also request their "Incentives", which are three tracks from the OST, via email if they're still missing them. Here's how:

The developers have also dropped the name "Prelude 2", a completely new title they've probably already been working on for a while. Chances are that the Altair will make an appearance in that game after we recently learned they won't be part of Orion: Prelude, but some future titles.

In a few hours the game will also have a new "free week" event, along with the new permanent price of $1 (prices may vary by region). Perfect conditions to give the new game a spin.

Orion: Prelude will "evolve" out of Dino Horde on August 25th. These are the most significant changes currently confirmed[www.facebook.com]:

SDK & Steam Workshop (Custom Maps)
2 New Maps: Combat Zone (img1[www.facebook.com], img2[www.facebook.com]) & Pirates Cove. There've been no recent news about the planed return of the original Conquest maps.
3 new game modes: Vital, CTF and Zeus
Remastered Character and Arm Models (Assault[www.facebook.com], Recon[www.facebook.com], Support[www.facebook.com])

Weather System 2.0
Tutorial System
New User Interface
