Advising Arachnophobes on spiders in games!

NOTE: If you would like to help us catalogue the Steam library and provide a phobia-safe environment, please drop me a message! I appreciate any help with this project.
This group is meant as a curator for Arachnophobes who still want to enjoy their games without worry.

We classify games in the following categories based on spiders' presence in them:

RED: Extreme and excessive presence of spiders and arachnids, especially in close quarters and under stressful circumstances.

ORANGE: Prominent presence of spiders and arachnids, sometimes in close quarters, active camera control might be required to avoid sudden movements into a spider.

YELLOW: Presence of spiders and arachnids, but generally distant camera perspective or comic look.

GREEN: No actual spiders and arachnids or very distant camera perspective combined with unrealistic looks.

BLUE: No presence of spiders and arachnids in the game files.

WHITE: Combined with any other rating means that mods can be used to remove spiders.


How often is this list updated?
As often as I can. This is currently a one-man project and the Steam library is vast, so it might take a while before a certain game is listed on here.

Can you check (GAME) for spiders?
Sure! Just let me know which game you'd like an opinion on and I'll give it a look.

Do you guarantee the accuracy of your ratings?
Since the ratings are mostly subjective, I'd be uncomfortable giving a definitive, all-time guarantee for every game on this ever-expanding list. Please take all ratings and comments with a grain of salt. Sometimes patches and DLC also change content faster than we can react, so that might be something to keep in mind.
That said, I'm doing my best to stay up to date. Generally speaking, GREEN ratings are probably the most stable.
Again: no guarantees - your mileage may vary!

Why not just make a list of arachnophobe-safe games? Why the ratings?
There is no such thing as an "arachnophobe-safe" game if it contains spiders. However, there are games where spiders are featured more or less prominently. Also listing those with a RED warning attached to them allows you to be absolutely certain about the status of a game - it's better to confirm THAT a game contains spiders as well rather than just omitting it, in which case it would be unclear whether I've looked at it or not.
