The Umbrella Corporation was a giant conglomerate which operated ruthlessly as a major international player in a number of markets including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment along with top-secret operations utilizing genetic engineering and biological weaponry. The company also had a more benevolent public face for the ignorant masses, producing cosmetics, consumer products and foods.
A subsidiary of Umbrella operated as a malevolent paramilitary organization. This division of the corporation maintained a highly trained security force capable of rescue, reconnaissance, and para-military operations.

Umbrella Security Service (abbreviated "U.S.S.") was an Umbrella elite special forces taskforce. As opposed to the UBCS, who were mainly used for "Cleanup" work, the U.S.S. were specially trained "Black Ops" unit dispatched by Umbrella.

Neo-Umbrella was a ruthless bioterrorist organization which was secretly founded by Carla Radames, who at the time being posed as Ada Wong. The organization's name, "Neo-Umbrella", was used to indicate an apparent connection to the Umbrella Corporation, which collapsed after it was found liable for damages in 2003 following the Raccoon Trials verdict, and used to inspire fear into the hearts of the organization's enemies. Neo-Umbrella's main goal was to destroy the current world order and replace it with a new one, where chaos and anarchy reigned supreme.

After the failure of the global plan of destroying the planet, the organization essentially was disbanded in sum. 2013. But experiments have not gone without trace. And at given moment, there are elite fighters by the terrible events of the past. Goal was changed and it is start a new history of the organization, which connects with the past right now only the title.
