Hopefully that helped a little bit! I'm transitioning from AMD/Radeon to Intel/GTX 1070 in the next month. As far as benchmarks go, the GTX 1070 will perform slightly better (~3%) than a Titan X, with the GTX 1080 performing ~24% better than the GTX 1070.

AMD will be releasing their newest GPU lineup (480/480X) which should make the numbers look a bit more realistic with a current generation competitor!

If you were an "AMD" guy you might want to wait until 480 490. There were a lot of complaints about the new gtx cards and these numbers are from NVIDIA, so..... it can be a bit of marketing. I don't say don't buy them. I still believe they will be great cards, but wait until the amd strikes again so the prices will be lower and we can compare the two companies bcause AMD for the first time said sth about very low W ussage with better performance of course. We'll need benchmarks from AMD too, tho.
