Hopefully that helped a little bit! I'm transitioning from AMD/Radeon to Intel/GTX 1070 in the next month. As far as benchmarks go, the GTX 1070 will perform slightly better (~3%) than a Titan X, with the GTX 1080 performing ~24% better than the GTX 1070.
AMD will be releasing their newest GPU lineup (480/480X) which should make the numbers look a bit more realistic with a current generation competitor!
