After several weeks of construction, the new jump gate launched its first wormhole activation on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, which shortly followed by a catastrophic space-time distortion leading to 51 casualties and massive damage to the nearby hyperspace. The disaster occurred 10 seconds after Helix corporation engineers spun up the FTL drive, leading to the deaths of all 42 crew members, which included 20 Helix space engineers, 12 exotic matter specialists, and 10 hyperspace traffic technicians. As the official Helix's spokesman described in an emergency press conference shortly after, the Traversable Wormhole Stabilizer (TWS, commonly called jump gate) disappeared into the wormhole and reappeared at the targetted destination 3 minutes after, at 15:03 UTC, spinning violently and slowly disintegrating towards all direction.

"... the cause of the malfunction could be the grid instability originated from pistons and hinges installed on the TWS, but we are still in the process of recovering data and figuring out the exact cause of this tragic event."

According to the Galactic Hyperspace Agency, the damage caused by this wormhole malfunction is immense."The implosion vacuum the initiation space and energized the targeted space; thus created a polarized area. it's like a typhoon, the difference is that you are not dealing with wind but torrent of space. Currently, we are discussing the possibility of branching two versions for better stability since no one has found a way to challenge the existing universal law of C.L.A.N.G."
