“Hello GSN! Long time no see! We’ve have a certain project under wraps for a while now and it’s finally time we let you guys know about it. This new server will NOT be Clone Wars RP (sorry to those of you who were excited), but it is going to be something I think many people will like. This new RP gamemode is called Criminal Underworld RP, and it focuses on PvP player-based factions fighting for control of a whole system. It will have very minor DarkRP elements such as citizen jobs (restaurant owner, thug, arms dealer, etc.), but the majority of it will be serious RP.

How factions will work is like this. There are three factions: The Hutt Cartel (under Lorac the Hutt), the Blazing Staves Pirates, and the Wingmaw Flayers. Each faction has a set personality, and in turn, a set goal. For example, the Hutt Cartel values business and professionalism and despise barbarism and savagery. This means that the Hutt Cartel will focus on more civilized planets with more of a mercantile base. Factions and their different goals and personalities will be explained further on. How factions take control of territory is through raiding. To call a raid, a faction will advert what they are raiding and then will go in and fight the opposing faction for control over that specific planet. There are many different control points on a planet that a faction must capture in order to be victorious, granted that the raid timer doesn’t run out. In which case territory will remain in the hands of whoever currently held control of a certain control point at the time of the raid ending. Using this system, these player-led factions can define their territory and politics.

Let’s say one faction goes to war over the capitol planet, Hemack Prime. The factions fight and the planet looks split in half in terms of who controls what control point. In the end, the fifteen minute raid timer runs out and the raid has to end. This means the factions must cease fighting and keep whatever control points they held at the point of the raid ending. Remember that control points equal territory, and so now the planet is split in half. This opens up a huge array of political opportunities for both factions, and all from one raid. The two sides could decide on a defined border between their two territories on the planet. They could secretly send scouting parties into the opposing faction’s territory to recon what their positions in hopes of finding an opportunity to strike again. Patrols definitely would have to be set up to maintain their borders as well. Remember as well that this is ALL player-led factions. There is a player leader who is actively giving orders out to their player members, while simultaneously maintaining diplomatic relations with player leaders.

Here is a list of all three factions and their corresponding traits and details:

Hutt Cartel
Organized, professional, and arrogant. The Hutt Cartel is possibly the most well known faction in the system, but the leader of this specific branch of it is a minor Hutt called Lorac the Hutt. He prefers his men to be more than just petty criminals and always makes it a point to carry out his dealings in a expert manner. He hates incompetence and savagery, but likes professional and disciplined criminals. He focuses more on territory as a means to expand political influence and business.

Blazing Staves Pirates
This fleet of pirates has harassed the system of Hemack for longer than any other faction. Their goal is simple, take all they can from whoever they can. They have been known to frequently rob and hijack merchant vessels passing through the system. They hate people who are wealthier than them and like people who give in to them and/or those who pay tribute to them. Territory to the Blazing Staves is only there so that they can expand their operations in smuggling and robbing, but more territory doesn’t hurt even if it doesn’t have much help to them.

Wingmaw Flayer
These absolute madmen are murderers and the very epitome of savages. They kill for fun and take pleasure in sadistic activities. Their goal is perhaps the simplest of all, kill as many people as they want and have tons of fun doing it. They hate order and government, but love anarchy and terror. Territory to them is useless, and if anything is just is there to burn down and massacre those within it. They tend to focus more on skirmishing enemy factions rather than raiding, but are more than willing to raid if it means they can burn it all to the ground.

Finally, there are a few details to go over concerning the gamemode. As stated previously there are minor DarkRP aspects. These not only include civilian jobs, but also money printers and basing. Factions are free to build bases in their territories and can set up money printers in order to make money. With that money they can then buy weapons from an arms dealer or ask a staff member with proper privileges for an armed vehicle. There will be, of course, strict building rules. No flying dildos or anything and no completely asinine and unfair base defenses.
