ABOUT GXL 2011 ( two TF2 tournaments!)

What: GXL 2011 LAN
When: May 6th, 7th, 8th
Where: King Of Prussia, PA (near Philadelphia)
Why: two different TF2 tournaments (with prizes)

Basically, we are running two TF2 tournaments at this years GXL. Friday night there will be a free to enter draft event. Think of it as an in person version of pug.na, with 6+ teams. Since not everyone will get to the lan the first night I wanted to hold something fun, so I came up with the draft. it will be free to enter, single elim, winner take all on the hardware prize!

Saturday we will hold the main TF2 tournament. We will use ESEA rules. There will be a cash buy in (maybe $25 per player). The prizes will be as follows:

1st place = 70% of cash pool + additional prizes (maybe hardware)
2nd place = 20% of cash pool + additional prizes (maybe hardware)
3rd place = 10% of cash pool + additional prizes (maybe hardware)

Everyone wants to know more about the prizes, and as of right now we dont know for sure what they will be yet. The sponsors havent confirmed 100% what they will be donating for prizes yet. Last year they got LOTS of good prizes, so I can only assume this year will be even better. I will post the confirmed prizes as soon as they tell me...

The gotfrag thread has all the useful information, but here is a link to the registration page. This is a big lan, and it will fill up fast. If you are even CONSIDERING coming to the GXL, please register (you dont have to pay now, just get your name on the list) now. The more players we see who want to come out the better the prizes will be. If the heads of the GXL see a lot of interest from the TF2 community we will get better prizes. Help us make that happen!

just a reminder, we are doing a community frag video for the GXL. If you played in the TF2 events this past weekend send me your POV demos with marked tics (i dont have time to watch everyones demos to find frag vid worthy clips) by MONDAY NIGHT at the latest.

ATTACH PERSONAL DEMOS. Use "yousendit" if the demos are too big to attach. You have until MONDAY NIGHT to send these in. Tell your teammates from the GXL to do this as well.

Im 100% confirmed, registered and fully paid. Im also the admin for all the TF2 events. I will also be playing in the tournaments. I hope nobody has a problem with that, and if you do... tough, lol ;)
