Formed in 2780 during Operation Brass Phantom, the Dragon Battalion were a group proposed to function as Auaetia's private army, put together using the foremost elite soldiers the world had ever seen.

The Dragon Battalion were formed to act as s secret service of sorts, however, it was not long before their name was known to the world. Their uniforms were distinct in design and their badges recognised, their name is proudly celebrated throughout the world, and feared by the enemy. While the Dragonfire Army work on defending the mainland, the Dragon Battalion now do all the wetwork that no one else wishes to do, such as infiltration and deep enemy territory combat. The Dragonfire Army are willing to support the Battalion's advances into combat, however, they will not push as far as Edelweiss. From thereon, the Battalion are on their own.

The Dragon Battalion currently holds fourteen squads, each of which contains eight soldiers. When a soldier dies, the Battalion will allow a squad to continue on without their 8th member, if they choose. Unlike the army, the Battalion's operators are rather free-willed, and get a lot of choice in what they do, leading them to be much happier soldiers, despite the grim war they face.
