It's probably no coincidence that one of the real world's first internet cafes was also called Cyberia.

Club Cyberia, also Cyberia Café & Club, commonly referred to as Cyberia, is a nightclub with, oddly, no policy regarding underage visitors. It is a pivotal location in the Serial Experiments Lain (anime). It is located in Shibuya.

The Cyberia Club & Café in Lain alludes to Douglas Rushkoff's book Cyberia, published in 1994. It revolved, quite fittingly, around themes of technology, drugs and subcultures.

Club Cyberia Wired, #CCW_lain, is a weekly livestream on Youtube hosted by DJ Wasei “JJ” Chikada on his Youtube Channel. It is a music streaming show inspired by Serial Experiments Lain. The first live started on February 24th, 2021 and live-streams have happened every Wednesday at 10 p.m. JST.

The name is a direct reference to Club Cyberia, the night club in the show Serial Experiments Lain.
