Nightfall Beta

The latest update is now in beta. Go to the betas tab for Cat Goes Fishing and select the "Nightfall Update" to give it a try. (You may wish to back up your save files; the beta branch can be unstable.)

New mechanics. New stuff. New fish, new hats, and more. Balance tweaks, bug fixes, and UI updates galore. Go forth now fishing kitties; go forth now and explore!

If anyone in this group still doesn't have a Cat Goes Fishing on steam for some reason, contact me or anthony@cat5games.com for a key. :)

Save File Incompatibility

As most of you know, we'll be releasing very soon. While polishing the game for release (and thanks to Guides For Games' excellent debugging) we fixed a bug with rod upgrades. I had to make a few changes to how upgrades are handled.

I've tried to make the changes as compatible as possible, but if you have "Attract/Repel" upgrades, they probably won't be imprinted for the fish you purchased them for after the update. (Cowfish and Shark attract/repels will appear blank and you'll have to repurchase them if you want them to work.)

My apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you all for participating in the beta.

Thank you for the invite. My cats will surely be pleased we made it. I will have some videos of my terrible fishing (for which my cats will critizise ad nuasum) posted later tonight.
