The latest update is now in beta. Go to the betas tab for Cat Goes Fishing and select the "Nightfall Update" to give it a try. (You may wish to back up your save files; the beta branch can be unstable.)

New mechanics. New stuff. New fish, new hats, and more. Balance tweaks, bug fixes, and UI updates galore. Go forth now fishing kitties; go forth now and explore!

As most of you know, we'll be releasing very soon. While polishing the game for release (and thanks to Guides For Games' excellent debugging) we fixed a bug with rod upgrades. I had to make a few changes to how upgrades are handled.

I've tried to make the changes as compatible as possible, but if you have "Attract/Repel" upgrades, they probably won't be imprinted for the fish you purchased them for after the update. (Cowfish and Shark attract/repels will appear blank and you'll have to repurchase them if you want them to work.)

My apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you all for participating in the beta.

Enjoying the steam version of Cat Goes Fishing?

If you have screen recording software (such as fraps), you can really help us out by recording some gameplay and sending it to us for use in the Cat Goes Fishing trailer. Just a few minutes of gameplay should be fine. Show off your skills!

• Record the 1200x720 game window.
  
• Record at 30 FPS with a bit rate of at least 5000 Kbps.
  
• Hit 'M' to mute the music before you begin recording.
  
• Share the files via dropbox with: casey.cat5games@gmail.com

If you can't share the files via dropbox, you can send me an email (at the same email address) letting me know how you want to share the files.

As of today there will be no more beta clients accessible from this page and after midnight tonight (UCT), all of the non-steam game clients will have expired and will no longer work. This means your save progress will be lost.

There's good news, however! Anyone in this group can now request a steam key for Cat Goes Fishing!

• Enable/disable the background music by pressing 'M'. (An actual menu will be implemented later, but this was very requested.)

• Should no longer possible to roll a "catch" quest you just completed.

• Bombs now only explode when a fish is actually lunging for the bait
