Welcome! My name is Uncle Phil. The California Southern is my company, and we are a Class 2 passenger and frieght rail line based out of Oakland, California, with trackage all over Northern and Central California from Medford, Oregon to as far south as Santa Barbara, CA, and lines out to the East, as far as Reno, Nevada.

This railroad takes inspiration from the Southern Pacific, Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe, and Western Pacific.

After over 2 years, the CASR’s herald has been finally replaced! This design will be permanent, and will have several different variants to it. All rolling stock and locomotives will have the new herald applied to them starting on September 12th.

EMERGENCY ALERT! Trains And Wildfires

As wildfires continue to spread throughout the North Bay, al CASR trains will be rerouted through Sacramento due to MASSIVE amounts of damaged track and bridges on the Sonoma Subdivision. Our heart also goes out to the thousands of residents who's homes have been destroyed.
