CYKA World Rankings - 25/04/16
World Number One:

-Luminosity Gaming-

Gabriel "Fallen" Toledo
Fernando "Fer" Alvares
Lincoln "fnx" Lau
Tacio "Taco" Filho
Marcelo "coldZera" David

Last Five Tournaments:

1. DreamHack Masters: Malmo 2016 [Group Stage]
2. MLG Columbus 2016 [Champions]
3. IEM Katowice 2016 [Second Place]
4. DreamHack ZOWIE Open Leipzig 2016 [Second Place]
5. SL i-league StarSeries XIV Finals [Semi Finalist]

Recent Major Champions, Luminosity Gaming stunned the world at MLG Colombus 2016. Thousands of fans in Brazil and the rest of the world jumped for joy when that final round ticked to 16. The Brazillians became the first non European team to win a major in CS:GO history as they crunched their way through a tight group, narrowly beating through a revived Virtus Pro side and two amazing comebacks showing their integrity, strength and spirit for the great game against a Team Liquid side that had beaten Fnatic on Dust2 in overtime earlier in the tournament. After an overtime game against Natus Vincere, the Brazillians dominated the second map to take the trophy home to Brazil. The teams performance at DreamHack Masters Malmo has likely affected their mental state after falling to both Mousesports who always play the Brazillians close and TyLoo, the representatives for Asian CS. However, one result does not define a magnificent last few months which is why LG remain at top spot.

World Number Two:

-Natus Vincere-

Ladislav "Guardian" Kovacs
Egor "flamie" Vasilyev
Ioann "Edward" Sukhairev
Denis "seized" Kostin
Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko

Last Five Tournaments:

1. DreamHack Masters: Malmo 2016 [Second Place]
2. MLG Columbus 2016 [Second Place]
3. Counter Pit League Season 2 Finals [Champions]
4. IEM Katowice 2016 [Semi Finalist]
5. DreamHack ZOWIE Open Leipzig 2016 [Champions]

Despite everything being set in place, Natus Vincere still couldn't clinch the first Major Title in 2016. It seemed as though a demoralising overtime loss to Luminosity on Mirage was too much and they capitulated and lost 2-0 in what was supposed to be one of the most promising major finals of all of CS:GO history. Recently online the team has been having mixed results, losing 16-3 to a new G2 on Overpass and being read like a book 16-8 by Flipsid3 Tactics on Cobblestone. Natus Vincere may have a long road to recovery especially as Guardian has made his eventual return. The experience of this team should allow them to recover their form and proceed to another victorious tournament.

World Number Three:

-Fnatic-

Jesper "JW" Wecksell
Robin "flusha" Ronnquist
Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer
Dennis "dennis" Edman
Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson

Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen

Last Five Tournaments:

1. MLG Columbus 2016 [Quarter-Finalist]
2. IEM Katowice 2016 [Champions]
3. ESL Barcelona CS:GO Invitational [Champions]
4. SL i-League StarSeries XIV Finals [Champions]
5. ESL-ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals [Champions]

Thanks to Fnatic's impressive Six-Tournament-Wins-Straight run, the team still remains third despite very rocky performances of late. The team were forced to sideline Olofmeister due to his growing hand injury and bring in an unknown Swede called PlesseN. So far, Fnatic have been terrible online, but lets not forget their recent tournament history. Coming into the major, Fnatic were the HEAVY favourites to take the first North American major trophy home... but it was not to be. A powerful Astralis side put a halt to those six tournaments by sending a tilted Fnatic home after losing to Team Liquid in overtime on Dust2. Fnatic were in blistering form, no one could touch them, not even Luminosity Gaming at Katowice who had been on 15 rounds twice in a Bo5 before ultimately crashing out of the tournament 3-0, yet again, claiming second place behind Fnatic. Fnatic with PlesseN online have so far lost to FaZe in both the ECS and ESL Pro League's and Natus Vincere. In the past week or so, Fnatic have played FaZe Clan on five maps, four of which went to FaZe. If Fnatic dont recover soon, they could tumble even further.

World Number Four:

-Ninjas In Pyjamas-

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund
Adam "Friberg" Friberg
Richard "Xist" Landstrom
Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
Jacob "Pyth" Mourujarvi

Last Five Tournaments:

1. DreamHack Masters: Malmo 2016 [Champions]
2. MLG Columbus 2016 [Quarter Finalist] (NOTE: Threat played for them at this LAN in place pf pyth).
3. IEM Katowice 2016 [Group Stage]
4. Fragbite Masters Season 5 Finals [Second Place]
5. Faceit League 2015 Stage 3 Finals [Quarter Finalist]

One of the all-time great teams of CS:GO and everybody's favourite Swedes (If you're from HLTV), NiP have pushed themselves this year, finally obtaining that tournament win that had taken so long to achieve since Maikelele's exit. NiP have been doing well online recently, chalking up wins against Team EnvyUs and taking Virtus Pro to the limit in a thrilling 25-22 OT game. With NiP winning DH Masters Malmo against a Natus Vincere side who were sure to win was quite an accomplishment and tells a story that this team is going places under the leadership duo of Xist and Threat.

World Number Five:

-Astralis-

Nicolai "device" Reed
Rene "cajunb" Borg
Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen
Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth
Finn "karrigan" Andersen

Last Five Tournaments:

1. DreamHack Masters: Malmo 2016 [Group Stage]
2. MLG Columbus 2016 [Semi Finalist]
3. Counter Pit League Season 2 Finals [Second Place]
4. IEM Katowice 2016 [Semi Finalist]
5. ESL Barcelona CS:GO Invitational [Second Place]

Astralis claim the fifth spot on the world rankings thanks to their endless choking in Semi Finals. At MLG Colombus, the Astralis side had done everyone a favour by eliminating Fnatic and the final looked reachable after so long... but it was not to be. The curse returned and an in-form Natus Vincere side that looked out for blood sent the Danes packing in the Semi Finals once again. The Danish side were knocked out by their bretheren at Malmo, meaning that Dignitas would represent Denmark in the Quarter Finals, only to be knocked out by a revitalised EnvyUs. Astralis are in need of some support if they're to recover from the Semi Final curse and achieve what they've been longing for... a CS:GO Major Title.
