ncmosquito here (if that wasn't already obvious).
some of you have have heard that I have started a new outfit on miller called "The Mighty Dudes" [Mdu].
I thought i would say a few words about it here.
Q )Why did I make the outift?
A) Because I feel like there hasn't really been the same core of social tank/air play on CABO miller for the last few weeks/months. I perceived there to be a lack of conections between the veterans of the outfit, and some low battle rank new players who were not communicating in squad chat/using a mic. I have enjoyed a solid community of air/vehicle play, and wanted to proactively ensure that a community for that sort of thing on miller remains.
A) In short, I don't want to change much. While in CABO, I enjoyed a community of mature communicative players who played together in aerial/vehicular squad play. People who have played with me know how much I enjoy the lib, so maybe there will be a bit more air flavour. Other than that, I intend to handle outfit rank slightly differently, which is a good segue to the next question
Q) Who does the gatekeeping? who decides who is allowed in Mdu?
A) First and foremost, I have no problems with anyone in CABO, and I see no reason to deny CABO players entry to Mdu should they express interest in joining the outfit. That being said, I respect that an outfit change has been a big deal for many players, and I am not forcing anyone.
For now, I have not granted anyone else in the outfit full leadership capabilities. I want to implement an outfit rank system based on merit points. Some ideas are:
* Join the steam/discord community.
* Use a microphone.
* Get vouched for by other players
* Stay loyal to the outfit for a couple of months.
Despite these points, so far noone has shown an active interest in a leadership role in the outfit. I don't think its practical in the long term that I am the sole outfit leader, so I am hoping that after a few months of merit based outfit politics I will have a clearer idea of how leadership can be expanded.
I hope that clears everything up, and if there are any other questions, I am happy to respond on steam or ingame. Happy fragging planetmen!
Since Tony left, there seems to be a feeling from the remaining CABO players on Miller of being in limbo. I get the impression that several players are dissatisfied with the fact that without Tony, CABO no longer seems to be a single cohesive unit.
I thought I would post here to see if there if we are just planning on letting the outfit slowly die, or if anyone has some other ideas. My personal opinion is that, there is still a decent number of dedicated and mature players who have the common interests of vehicular/aerial warefare and social play. This is always what I interpreted CABO to be primarily interested in. Maybe even just having one or two outfit leaders who want to promote that would be enough to bring a bit of unity back to the outfit.
On that note, I'm not actually suggesting nor do I believe that I would be a suitable outfit leader. In short, what are we doing?
