A scene plays as you approach the Burkaqua Village gates. When it ends, you can enter the village and save your game at the Transporter inside the gates. Before you seek the Village Elder for more information, take a look around the village.

Begin by crossing the log bridge to the east and enter the hut on the other side. You will find some Dreamflower Ash in a chest on the main floor and a Mellow Banana in another chest in the loft.

Follow the path north to a hut on the west side. A chest in the mish pen outside holds Juraikan Coffee Beans x3. The chest inside the hut requires the Earth Key, but you will find a pair of Star Earrings in another chest in the loft.

Climb the ladder to the elevated hut on the east side of the path to find a chest with Recharge Drink x3. Further north, near the north village exit, is another elevated hut. Climb the ladder and you will see a chest with an Ancient Scroll I to teach another character the Burning Strike ability.

Leave by the north village exit and follow the short path through the Valley of Departure to Juraika's space depot. Activate the Transporter there and collect Heal Potion x2 from the nearby chest.

Return to Burkaqua Village and go up the wooden steps by the elevated hut. In the hut on the south side of the path, you will find Wanboko, the village's shopkeeper. In addition to recovery items and a few materials, he also sells some new weapons.

Up another set of steps to the west are two huts. The large hut on the northwest side of the path with guards posted outside is the Elder's hut. Open the chest in the pen beside the Elder's hut to get a Spirit Bell. There aren't any more items to collect now, so approach the Elder's hut for a scene.

After the scene, night has fallen and you have control outside the Elder's hut. Re-enter the Elder's hut and retrieve the Earth Key from a chest. You can leave the village by the south or west exits now, but you don't lose anything by continuing with the story for a bit first. Your next stop is the Maiden Shrine. Return to the first hut you searched, the one northeast of the Transporter, to view another scene.

As the scene continues, morning arrives and Chapter 2 comes to a close. It's time now to follow the Path to the Star God's Altar.
