Blender freezes while exporting the model
Is Blender using CPU? Do you have the most recent version of the tools?
Check Task Manager and see if Blender is using CPU. If it is, then you just need to be patient.

Issues with gameplay imported to blender.
It sounds like an up axis is incorrect somewhere, possibly you are importing an animation made with one model in SFM onto a different model in Blender.

Simply refusing to install.
It's a check box in the list of installed Blender add-ons.

An error occurred during the file import process (`*.qc`, `*.smd`, blender 4.0)
It looks like another script within Blender has messed with the console window, and replaced a key component with its own "StdoutOverride". Try disabling other add-ons until the problem goes away.

Making Source eyes work in Blender
Pupils are rendered entirely by a shader. They don't exist on the model, you just tell the shader where the eyeball is.
