I hope DMX is a newer and better alternative to SMD to creating custom props for HL2 and L4D2

As for the materials, can we use Blender internal or Cycles materials? Or do they have to be textures only? if the latter, is there a limitation for the image file type it has to be? Can it be JPG?

And what about the MDL file, is it done by BleST too?

Or am I supposed to do that on my own?

A solution was found!

Errr, nevermind! Just learned it will only show me .mdl files ;)
Someone said I should export the phys smd too so I did. Got another error message though: "No animations found",which brought me to fix this:
$sequence idle "man_ref.smd"
Also moved my files to this path
steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\models\man_model\
but I'm still getting an error :(

In the error report says "could not load man_phys.smd", so I thought of sharing the actual blend file[docs.google.com] should anyone want to inspect my man_phys mesh, which is really just a rectangle big enough to cover the man.

It does create an SMD file (man_ref.smd), but HLMV.exe cannot see it, I suppose that confirms that this is not a good SMD file, is that right?
So what should I do next?
Btw the location of my files is in a subfolder called "man_model" inside the "F:\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\bin" folder.

All I can infer from this Blender console feedback is that StudioMDL can't compile due to some error, but I can't find out which error as when I try either running (by double-clicking) the StudioMDL EXE or dropping the QC file right on StudioMDL it pops up its console for fraction of a sec! It's hard to even catch it with a screenshot!
