Oh, I just managed to fix the problem. It was a Hammer issue after all, not a Blender or exporting one.

Basically, I had inside the frame of the fireplace a brush textured with nodraw which was for part of the inside of the chimney. Because the nodraw was right up against the wall, it was letting light in (because if you have two faces next to each other, they effectively remove themselves (I dunno, its a bit weird).). So yeah, I just filled in the brushes with a texture, and it was all fine....

I just tried exporting using the DMX exporter setting in the Blender Source Tools. Still no change unfortunately.

I was initially using 3.0.1, but since you sent this, I updated to 3.0.2 and have no change.

Yeah, I am using CSGO, and yeah, it is just Source. Not Source 2.

I'm still have the same problem. I was wondering, because you weren't having any problems when you loaded up the model in SFM, whether SFM uses Source 2 or not.

Might just be the a Source engine problem.

I've never used SFM before. Does it use Source 2?

Ah, I see, sorry.

Basically, because I was having trouble getting the model to be lit properly, I was just simplifying it and exporting it to test how the lighting looked. The little indents I was going to add later, once I had sorted out the problem.

So the version behind is the original model, the one in front is effectively a test model.

Edit: So I suppose, its the one in front I am trying to sort out. That is the one I have been exporting each time. The physics model is in a separate .BLEND file but works fine. While I was testing the model I didn't want to keep recreating the physics model for the prop, so I had the phys model exported ages ago and just recreated the actual model. I usually have my .BLEND files neater, but as I was testing, I cut a few corners with the phys model.

Could very likely be some error with my method which I am unaware of. I am pretty sure it is to do with my prop and not my map.

To be honest, I am just trying every avenue to get this to work properly.

Just did another compile with a newer version of Crowbar.exe and I am still getting the same issue with the lighting, however, I am now getting a warning message appear in the compile log

I googled this issue and was linked to this Reddit page

This person seems to be having the exact same problem. According to some of the people in the Reddit chat, it has something to do with static lighting, which I believe is my issue.

Any ideas?

Your model is a static prop, it doesn't move, so you should be able to just reuse the exported SMD.

The sequence statement would look like this

Unfortunately, its still giving the same results. I even lowered the lighting level in the room in case the light was too bright. I also recreated the model and kept the faces which are up against the wall just in case deleting the faces were causing problems (I know its probably unlikely)
