I am trying to export my tf2 DMX model with HWM facial flexes using "tf2_head_controllers.dmx" which has reliably exported my HWM tf2 models before without issues.


When I export the DMX file, I get an error message from blender that reads:

"ERROR: Could not load flex controllers.Python Reports: Could Not Read DMX Header"



The model has 54 shapekeys and 108 corrective shapekeys if that makes a difference

You need at least add some shape keys, then select your mesh with shapes on Source Exportables. Then it will appear.

Figured out what the problem was. It was a dumb mistake. I had it set to SMD instead of DMX

Hello, I am reading a tutorial that says

" Select your character’s absolute head mesh and in the Blender SourceTools’ Source Engine Exportables panel, switch the Flex Properties to Advanced. Select your controller block file as the Controller source. "

I tried to followt his, but I do not see a "Flex Properties" option or area as shown here http://imgur.com/a/wABj5

There are 2 folders. One being the exported animations and the other being the original .mdl file. It appears that most of the taunt animations do not work. The ones I am mainly after are "taunt_rps_paper_lose", "taunt_rps_rock_lose", and "taunt_rps_scissors_lose".

If I could get any of those to work, that would be great

I have used Crowbar to decompile the .mdl's. I downloaded another decompiler and the same animations did not work. Here is an image of my Crowbar settings to see if I have any settings weird. http://imgur.com/a/Wijm0

I was looking to import some source animations for source models in BLENDER. After decompiling the animations into .smd files, some animations do not work when imoprted. When the .smd of the animation is imported, the models just go to their default pose and have no key-frames.

Any help is greatly appreciated

You have to extract the used VTFs, turn them into PNGs or something, and manually load those in Blender. The Blender Source Tools don't load VTFs (nor VMTs), nor any other sort of material or texture files.

I wish to import a TF2 map into blender. I have imported the map with Crafty, but there are no textures, I was just wondering if there was a way to fix this. I have my doubts that it is, but i thought if i could get an answer anywhere, it would be from this group.
