Why Bullet Point Reviews?
  • To recommend excellent, enjoyable, and worthwhile games from independent developers and help the gamers who might like such games to find them. I purchase all games that I review.

  • A bullet pointed list makes it easy to skim & find the aspects of the game that you are most interested in and decide if it's for you or not. I'm currently converting old reviews to this format.

  • I avoid "Pro & Con" lists because quite often, short of bugs or lack of support, a "Pro" in one person's book, is a "Con" in another.

  • To make an informed decision, you need information. Direct data with a purpose. A bullet pointed list can ease that transparency.

  • Details with minimal necessary opinion & no posturing. I'm just a gamer. Not a pro reviewer. My agenda is helping you find neat distractions.

  • Less time reading = more time gaming for you.

Don't be a jerk. Just don't. The world is too full of drama as it is. Don't add to it. Gaming is essentially a first-world luxury, developed for entertainment & communication, so let's not clutter the field with trolling, spam, and hate. It's sad & if you do, you will be banned. =Plonk=

  • ARPGs (mugging monsters and grabbing random loots!)
  • rogue-likes (action, puzzle, strategic, you name it)
  • ShMUps (vertical > horizontal)
  • third-person action titles
  • twin-stick shooters
  • top-down shooters / exploration / adventure
  • pixel graphics & chip tunes/interesting music
  • HP Lovecraft / monster themes / sci-fi / dungeon themes
  • high customization / high replayability / low micromanagement
  • random events / random levels / random loot (I love you, RNG!)
  • logical, consistent environmental behavior
  • emergent gameplay, customization & leveling up
  • also loot, mayhem, loot, 'splosions, & neat ideas. And loot. That too.
