Today a method for fixing the Gimli That Axe! achievement in Killing Floor was found. I've wrote up a guide on how to do it so if it's the last achievement your missing make sure to go pick it up!

The fix formats the Steam api response that is sent to Killing Floor into a valid format that the game can parse. You don't need to edit any game files, and you're still required to get the Not A War Hammer achievement in Dwarfs F2P to unlock Gimli That Axe.

This method is approved and endorsed by moderators of this group and 100pAG.

The other day the Steam Game Festival Summer Edition started. With it has come over 500+ demos to try for free this week up until June 22nd 10am PDT!

From this I've compiled a list of the time limited demos from it that have achievements and wrote up a small explanatory text for each game about it's achievements. Make sure you don't miss out on these as it's unsure if the demos will stay around afterwards or not.

Make sure to do pepe's quest for an achievement before finishing the game. This will require 25 Fe (Iron) and 25 Cu (Copper) to complete. Switching locations respawns the loot so make sure to do this to get more copper and iron with ease.
Last achievement will be for defeating the boar boss and his minions.

The achievements are for completing the first two quests. You'll have to upgrade your gear a few times for completing the 2nd quest. Do this buy picking up loot, selling spare gear, and buying new gear. Law and Hoarder boss is at level 15. You'll get a checkpoint at level 6, and 11 to teleport back to if you die.

Complete Story then play again to grind 100 enemy kills. This can be done by walking around in the same area to get random encounters. An apple for the apple achievement can be found near the fisherman at the start.


Only 21/25 achievements are currently obtainable.

Achievements are pretty simple for just playing different modes. Destroyer achievements and there counterparts for obtaining victory can be boosted local play in battle royal mode.

Pick up the hidden Acid Diver achievement under the water at the boat. Alongside this Kill the main boss, and secret boss.

For the two hidden achievements type the following characters in game for the corresponding achievement:

After finishing a playthrough you'll props still need to collect more crystals so you can start a new game and type "goto 05" to teleport to the area with crystals and then die to get them to respawn.

The achievements unlock at the end of a playthrough. During either one make sure to also stop during the lake scene with space for another achievement.

Today the Steam client had an update which has prevented the download of old game versions via the Steam console. This feature came in handy for being able to obtain Steam achievements for games where an update had broke or removed content in where an achievement was tied to it.

This issue may only be temporarily and get fixed by Valve in a future client update as it's currently unknown if this is intended. In the meantime if you are wanting to download old depots for a game weather that be for broken achievements or wanting to play cut content it's still doable with a piece of open source software by the name of DepotDownloader[github.com].

The software achieves this by downloading the old game depots directly from the Steam content servers with the assistance of the SteamKit library. If you do end up using it make sure to give the README[github.com] a look over for how to use it.

Great news! Moving forward the 100pAG Steam group will be hosting the approved community-made achievement fixes on behalf of AStats.

A few months ago on the AStats Forums, a discussion thread[astats.astats.nl] had gone live regarding community-made achievement fixes. This thread was created to begin a trial period wherein users could finally fix the infamous removed Zonitron series of games. The initial response to this proposal was mixed with all sides providing great feedback! From this community feedback we found it was imperative that we get the public release of these fixes right; carefully addressing the issues raised.

After careful consideration of what was said in the community, we now believe the time is right and the game fixes are ready. The 100pAG Steam group will host a variety of game fixes that have been well vetted and tested by the moderation team.

The owner of AStats, Mytharox, has agreed that in lieu of a developer who might be removed from Steam or has otherwise abandoned updates to their game, that these community tested and approved achievement fixes are acceptable to use.
The fixes allow the once broken achievements to now behave as intended. The fixes in no way change how a player must unlock an achievement. Only fixes which meet a very high standard of quality control, vetted by moderators in 100pAG and AStats to be safe and accurate will be approved for use on AStats.

So, what does this mean for you?
If you've ever played a game that has had broken achievements and the developer refuses to fix it, or even worse; the game has been banned by Steam, you'll now have the chance to unlock the achievements!
A notable example of how approved fixes can benefit the community regards specifically the Zonitron games. These titles were removed shortly after they had pushed out a big batch of spam achievements. They never went live and the game was banned before an update could be made to correct this.
