Psychonauts, commercially, was a failure. This was a pity because as a game it was awesome and over the years it has garnered itself a well-deserved reputation as one of the best gaming failures of all time.

Why it didn’t do commercially well was for a number of reasons. However, it was a bit of a mystery within the industry since the reviews were pretty much overwhelmingly excellent. Then again, Toonstuck and Grim Fandango were also excellent games which the critics loved but the shops didn’t.

Is Psychonauts 2 going to be released soon?

At present, there is no firm release date for Psychonauts 2. However, it is anticipated for release at some point in the latter half of 2018.
