Union of European Football Associations, abbr. UEFA, UEFA in Russian transliteration) - the organization that manages the football in Europe and some parts of western Asia. It brings together the national football associations of European countries. UEFA organizes all the European clubs and national teams competitions, and distributes revenue from advertising and broadcasting between clubs and national associations, its member.
UEFA is one of six continental confederations, member of FIFA, UEFA and the one most influential and rich. Almost all of the world's strongest players play in Europe because it is the biggest paycheck, especially in England, Italy, Spain and Germany. UEFA are also many strong teams of the world, which determines much of the countries of the Confederation at the world championships: so, out of 32 teams at the World Cup 2006 UEFA were 14.
