1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment - War Of Rights/Battle Cry Of Freedom -

The men of Minnesota were hardy men, many being lumber workers and farmers on the new frontier. These men of the new state Minnesota (1858) faught tooth and nail throughout the war and were known for their famed ferocity and courage. The 1st Minnesota was one of the most decorated units in the civil war. The act in which they shined was on the 2nd day of Gettysburg with their famous charge which resulted in 80% losses.
