[4ARM]: Loyalty opportunity with FRR

Due to unforseen circumstances, the 4th Armored "Hammerheads" are currently pledged loyalty to the FRR faction in MWO rather than in a 7-day contract we normally affiliate with as a Merc group.

[4ARM] does have a lot of allies there and if there'd be any faction to pledge to, it'd be FRR, but certainly not at this time as the perks of being Mercs outweighs the benefits of being a loyalist unit. Breaking loyalties with any faction has a severe -25% C-bill penalty as well as -25% of the rank with the current faction [which will kinda screw yours truly over quite a lot but it is what it is]. Title of "Deserter" will be applied for 7 days after the loyalty is broken too.

Thus: feel free to use this opportunity to gain rank (meaning: gain the spoils of FP loyalty such as C-bills, 'Mech Bays, etc.) during this time period before we break back to Merc & before the penalties take place. A notice will be posted in Discord before we so.

December 7th, 1941 — 2,403 Americans were killed and nearly 1,200 were wounded (alongside the 19 Naval ships destroyed) in the attack Pearl Harbor shortly after dawn. So many had died in the waking war to come between the U.S. and imperial Japan, now officially sparked from the attack. This was and still is "a date which will live an infamy" (President Franklin D. Roosevelt). Let us remember that on this 75th anniversary of that day as we go about our daily lives: we are free today had it not have been for the people willing to put themselves in harm's way on a daily basis – sacrifices by those who preserve freedom in both the past & present. This is one of the most important reasons the 173rd Air Gaming exists. We must remember the fallen. We owe soldiers like them an unpayable debt.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a press conference Monday it was natural for WWII veterans to be “embittered” about Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Pearl Harbor, but they should "get over it" for the sake of America. This comes as a slap in the face. Understandably so for the vets in attendance but outrageous that we should "get over" the atrocities of the past. Fools rush to forget so that they may repeat the same mistakes. This attitude of firmly placing your head in the sand only dooms history to repeat itself. One doesn't simply shake-off something like Pearl Harbor. I put myself in their shoes and imagine tomorrow's generation saying I should "get over" 9/11. That's something we as a society, a culture, and a country, cannot and should not forget.

Without any reason to fight for decency and for the freedoms of ourselves and our fellow men and women, then we have already lost the war. There is still something worth fighting for. It is a duty that is ours to uphold what is good and right. Let the day which will live an infamy be a constant reminder to stay ever-vigilant, be it a trained solider on the frontlines or a simple gaming group...we all have a responsibilty to learn from the past and uphold what so many had given their lives for. Cherish the WWII vets while we still have them among us.
