An hour after releasing, the update got tons of hate.

Not only that, a year ago we could see friendlies, spycrabs and such.
Now...now there are only tryhards and gibuses.
AND I DON'T CARE FOR YOUR OPINION AS YOU DON'T CARE FOR MINE, BUT FRIENDLIES WERE AWESOME.
But at times when I want to be serious and feel in the mood to win the way I wanted to be, friendlies can get in my way and distracting. No hate but distracting.

This happens with EVERY big update.
Yes just like any new AAA or overhyped game released, a sequel released, everything that gets a massive change. It's expected so get over it, welcome to the 21st century.

But the reason of why this update is given backlash is exceptional.
Valve is forcing everyone in the game to the competitive scene, the main problem is that they removed pubs for make way of the casual servers. I already said this briefly but here's why pubs are needed back as said from another player[redd.it]:

• You get to choose the map you play on
• Kick annoying people
• Kick hackers
• Play multiple matches with and against roughly the same set of people
• Play multiple matches without having to rejoin all the time
• Play multiple matches on the same map
• Make friends and short-term acquaintances
• Switch teams to level the playing field
• Switch teams to teamstack or continue playing with your friends and short-term acquaintances
(optional, with high skill and/or friends) Pubstomp
• Leave the server when you are interrupted in meatspace or by something else
• Switch servers when it has a map you don't like
• Leave the server when you are not enjoying the match anymore
• Join a pub without any feeling of commitment
• Join a pub without being expected to contribute

And to add up, I just want a relaxing quick game of TF2 but I can't because joining casual servers takes ages like about 45 minutes similiar to MvM and Stress Tests but by the time you joined, you're in a non-local server that gives you 300 pings and it would be a pain to leave the server because the penalties on a goddamn casual server, I mean nobody wants to play a proper game of TF2 that takes 1-2 seconds to sync to the whole server.
I already said something about a quick or friendly game before I go to school, forced to help someone in real life or have to stop the high ping frustrating as another person is using the Internet mid-match but due to the replacement of casual servers, I will risk penalties and because of that issue, it can lead to much frustrating experiences: https://redd.it/4rt6xq

Forget about the dumb Heavy Vs. Pyro event as the removed quickplay needs to be looked at.
Community servers doesn't really help much to act as a substitute.

The tf2 forums are in complete chaos right now.
This is the prime reason of why the TF2 subreddit is better in every single way.
I mean look at this, at least they're being civil, mature and constructive about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/4rs9by/valve_we_would_like_you_to_restore_the_old/

Do you people seriously think removing pubs is okay?

Good. Now players can ACTUALLY try to win the game instead of just fucking around.
Now I don't know about you guys who is quoting this and you probably don't care anyway because I just want to say: I'm not really interested into competitive and that's not a choice because my household does use the Internet or wants my attention; and that's the problem because if I have to quit or AFK during the game, I'll be penalised for doing something that I'm forced to do. I mean they removed pubs in favour of 'casual' servers and thanks to these servers: Autobalances, Votekick, Map + One Gamemode selection, Multiple matches on one match, No expected/forced commitment or contribute (fucking anxiety), Able to leave or switch servers if you dislike the current game, players, map, etc & etc are no longer there and community servers ain't perfect either.
I mean why the fuck would you add penalties to casual servers for abandoning? (Mind you, this doesn't happen in Counter-Strike: GO!) Don't get me wrong, I am one of the players who wants to win the objectives most of the time but removing a way to relax in a quick friendly game of TF2 is just bullshit.

Oh well at least I got a shitload of new Steam games to play that would keep me busy for like 4 months.
