Going Crossfire with RX480s - should I?
TLDR; Is going Crossfire with RX 480 worth it in my case, for 1080p@60?

So I am finally planning to upgrade/complete my former build by utilising as many components as possible to save money.

Currently I have this (which I have to transport myself via plane across countries):

Case: Coolermaster Cosmos (heavy as ♥♥♥♥)
CPU: i5-2500K @ 4.2ghz
GPU: Nvidia 770 OC to 780 clocks
Cooling: Triple EK rad with Supremacy CPU and VGA blocks, good tubing, reservoir, DD(Lian Li) pump, Noctua fans
PCI-e cards: Asus Xonar Essence STX and a AC wifi card (D-link I believe).
Monitor: 1080P Asus some crappy TN panel
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1, LGA 1150
PSU: 800Watts of put-put dying power
RAM: Gskill XMP 8gb ddr3-1800

I HAVE to replace these parts for stability: PSU and GPU. In addition adding an SSD for OS and some games.

The mobo supports SLI and Crossfire at PCIe3-x8 dual.

For 1080p, I've been recommended RX480 and 1060. The first has the added benefit of later multi-gpu support.

The issue is that I could afford one such card, and when my paycheck arrives a month later, I can add another one.

Crossfire has its issues though. Not all games support it, but the ones that do seem to scale very nicely. Games I would like to experience on it would be Witcher 3 and Xcom2, both benefitting a lot from multigpu from AMD. Others that I would play are Fallout 4, which seems ok with just one rx480.

The alternative is to forego a month of gaming, and save up for a 1070. But a month of gaming is a lot for me, I think I can't stand it.

The waterloop would either include just one GPU and the CPU, or no GPU at all, depending on the amount of VRAM sinks I need to fiddle with. My experience is that whilst GPU core stays absurdly cool and silent in such a setup, the cooling of the VRAM is so-so.

I would not be able to even fit a crossfire watercooling setup, even in a Cosmos. That leaves me looking for GPUs with good and fairly silent cooling, like the ASUS STRIX RX480s OCed. Though something tells me going for active air cooled modern GPUs will give me tinnitus.

But I have a good pair of cans, which might distract me from the jetfighters taking off.

Also, down the road with more money, I am planning to upgrade the CPU to i5-4690K and OC massively and buy a Freesync IPS/VA monitor (there are some curved ones from Samsung that look neat).

PS. Please don't make this into an AMD vs NVIDIA fight :) I already stated if I had the money upfront, I would buy a 1070 instead.

Brexit was retarded - as the British people are finding out. This happens everytime in a popular vote with vested interests hedging against society.

Britain got a lions share of the EU science and research grants - something that will now trickle down to other countries.

Britain had the best deal out of EU already - no freedom of movement, no single currency, no bailouts, massive science funding, a rebate from the membership fee that other poorer countries had to compensate for etc, access to one of the biggest economic markets in the world.

Now? Lost all that science funding, losing access to the single market, losing status of Europe's financial centre as they shift to Germany mostly, will likely be forced to accept free movement of people if wanting access to single market etc etc.

It was a huge blow not only economically, but politically. It suddenly has a whimpering voice in the world, whereas before they commanded authority, and muscled through trade negotiations.

The only positive side of this is showing other countries the negative effects of exiting the EU.
I...kinda agree, shit. Also that's not SJWing, that's critique. SJWing is doing the same but only nitpicking the bads and making them huge as all fuck.

WTF DUDE????!

You can't agree with a SJW if you want to have a good night's sleep.

To be fair, I'm one of those fake SJWs that get loud after a few beers, but I'm actually a scientist so I try to represent all sides of the argument first.

Haven't crossed the line yet, when I'm frothing at the mouth about something.

Like climate change, or gun control.
