As for Clones. You have to sit through the utter borefest of emo-n-horny Anakin and Obi-Wan's side quest.

I'm not sure expanding the universe was a good thing in Phantom's case. Midichlorians were annoying as hell, I liked it more when the force was less grounded in science.

Pod racing was god-awful. Expanding the galaxy? They literally spent an hour on fucking Tatooine FFS! I'm not even going to try to say that the Anakin/Obi-Wan crap was good or even decent, but compared to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan/Kid Anakin? Not even going to mention you-know-who. Please. It was fucking oscar material compared to that. And yeah, I liked it better when the Force was more magical and mysterious, like, you know, fucking MAGIC. Lucas literally sucked the fantasy out of the franchise that pretty much defined what sci-fantasy was.

Well... The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith weren't that bad. Not very good, but not that bad either.

Attack of the Clones was... just the worst.

I thought Phantom was terrible. Clones at least had the clones and droids fighting.

This. They were all bad, but the action/special effects seemed to improve with each one, making each of them more "entertaining" than the last. Clones had more "boring" scenes than Menace, but it also had less cringeworthy scenes too. And I was a lot more detached from the action scenes in Menace. I didn't go to the theater to see a little kid racing some CGI monster or doing a barral roll 'cause it's "a neat trick". A bunch of guys with laser swords and some CG things that kinda looked like stormtroopers was way more "fun" to see. I'd say the key difference between the three of them is that Menace was a bad kids movie, Clones was a bad tween movie, and Revenge was a bad teen movie. Each one just a bit more tolerable to sit through than the last.
