I have always justed used music services like pandora to doscover new music. I type in a genre, pick out my favorites and make stations using those artists and go from there. Most of my favorite artists have come from doing that. As well as discovering my unknown love for blues music. Came from expanding my jazz knowledge.

No way. any game that only uses digital controls will work great with a keyboard. Controllers are only useful if a game makes heavy use of analog controls.

I find the comfort and button accessibility a controller provides to be better for games that don't require precise movement. Personal preference I suppose then.

As mentioned already, racers. I would say most platformers are just better with controllers too. Keyboard inputs are digital, they either recieve a command, or they don't. The stick on a controller can give greater control (like making a character jump and land only 75% of their full jump distance, or make gentle turns in a car).
