Yes, it's "retarded", but it is still the only way to somewhat accurately measure it.

It's retarded because sampling is a thing, you know? You can get close enough results with a choice of random words and you don't have to define all >170k words in the English language. For example, you appear to have difficulty with "nadir" and "disdain"....

It can determine your knowledge of certain words, and make an assumption based on that - which in 99% of cases is an incredibly wrong assumption.
