Again, regret chance is only 2% and I disagree with letting children transition.
The vast majority of people who transition are on hormones before age 24-25.
As for the "2%" chance, that's the statistic that you posted for Sweden. The U.S. is 41%.
And yet, even I managed to fish out another report for Sweden itself.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21364939
"For the purpose of evaluating the safety of sex reassignment in terms of morbidity and mortality, however, it is reasonable to compare sex reassigned persons with matched population controls. The caveat with this design is that transsexual persons before sex reassignment might differ from healthy controls (although this bias can be statistically corrected for by adjusting for baseline differences). It is therefore important to note that the current study is only informative with respect to transsexuals persons health after sex reassignment; no inferences can be drawn as to the effectiveness of sex reassignment as a treatment for transsexualism. In other words, the results should not be interpreted such as sex reassignment per se increases morbidity and mortality. Things might have been even worse without sex reassignment. As an analogy, similar studies have found increased somatic morbidity, suicide rate, and overall mortality for patients treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.[39], [40] This is important information, but it does not follow that mood stabilizing treatment or antipsychotic treatment is the culprit."

From what you linked.

Anyway, I need to go to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow.

I've already told you. Gender dysphoria. The only treatment is transitioning.
No.
You don't treat someone by giving into their mental illness.
So now I'll have to re-quote the story with the old grandpa.
And as I've said before, their suicidal / depressive urges don't go away.
Especially not after getting the sex-reassignment surgery.
Did I forget to mention

Look, these people are still mentally ill; and transitioning only encourages it.
This can even go as far as a boy threatening to harm himself with scissors one time.
Even after we've clarified that it is a mental issue, we don't make it better by giving into it.
Lets say that someone's grandfather was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and they thought that the radio was talking to him, so they put him inside of a mental hospital. They didn't tell him that the radio was talking to him to allow him to live a better life — they put him in a hospital and then they gave him lithium, which allowed him to live a better life. Looking for better solutions than transgender surgery [since suicide rates essentially remain static with gender reassignment] would be a better solution than pretending that transgender surgery is the cure for people, and not to be slaves to our own emotions with these given moments in life.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the suicide rates over this mental illness is 41%.
A search for one hormone blocker, Lupron, shows that people are reporting serious long-term, debilitating side effects from having used the drug.
The FDA has not approved hormone blockers for use in transgender children—not even for experimental use.
Oh, most children with gender dysphoria will not remain gender dysphoric after puberty.[1]
Lets not forget Alexis Arquette.[www.hollywoodreporter.com]
Again, regret chance is only 2% and I disagree with letting children transition.
