Rioting should be something that people do on pupose to affect other peopel they are against or send a word of message to the people around them.
But most people in those states supported Hillary, probably most people in those states are upset.

They are literally rioting in a place that would only affect them.
Its like me realising my candidate that I supported did not win and I start trashing my house and setting it on fire while beating up my neighbors.

Most riots and protests work like this I thought. I'm not versed with recent american history but I thought the people of the LA riots were destroying their city, their neighborhoods. They trash their place so that others know how displeased they are, not because they want to physically harm people who were the cause of their displeasure.
