Comic Recommendation Thread
So I've been reading a lot more comics lately and want to discuss some that I've read and know other good ones. To start.

-Mega Man (Archie)
A unique take on the blue bomber. The comics adapt the plots of the classic video games, but flesh them out tremendously. Rock has a lot of character. He's a simple and good hearted kid who takes it upon himself to be a hero. His quest to stop the Robotmasters see him transform from the aforementioned kind hearted person into a pseudo-sadistic anti-hero whose corrupt with power. He quickly realizes the errors of his ways, but his actions set up a grim reminder for him and his friends and family. The art is beautiful, the humor is hilarious, the drama is heartfelt and the characters are interesting. I love how the Robot Masters join Rock's side and help him out during his quests, it's both heartwarming and badass.

-Adventure Time (Original Run by Boom!)
The Adventure Time comic series is surprisingly pretty sweet. The tone the series starts off is both dark and lighthearted, much like the series the comics are based off of. The Lich revives and destroys all of Ooo by sealing it in a magical bag, while our heroes and villains must team up to save the day. The humor is hilarious, the adventures are suitably ridiculous, the characters are on point and the art is really pretty. I love how it captures the atmosphere of the show almost downpat (it doesn't quite get to the same levels of cosmic horror and somber history as the show does, though). I haven't read much past the first arc and just started the second arc so maybe I'm missing something.

-Voltron 2016 (Lionforge)
The relatively new Comic adaption of Voltron: Legendary Defender by Lionforge is a pretty good one as well. While the art is rather...limited, the storyline is actually quite interesting. Koran gets held hostage by an Alien mafia (more or less) and its up to the Paladins to save him. While it sometimes reads like a fanfic (a good one, but still) and the overall plot is repetitive, the series is still a good read. In each issue, we see a new Alien world and our heroes must overcome a unique challenge. From outsmarting a omniscient computer to beating a monster that cannot die, the adventures stay varied as to it not getting dull. Issue three was my favorite for VOLTRON[2.bp.blogspot.com] VS[2.bp.blogspot.com] GIANT DRAGON ACTION[2.bp.blogspot.com] and overall great humor.

As I mentioned in the OP, I loved Archie's Megaman run, and from I can tell, they both share the same writer (Ian Flynn). Gotta check that series out soon.

I started reading Phoenix and Astro Boy, both by Osamu Tezuka (Basically Japans Walt Disney). Haven't gotten to far into them yet since I want to buy them myself, and each volume is expensive. I'll probably read Berserk sometime down the road.

God, all I want is a Harry Potter comicbook adapation. That would be so dope.

Read the books, watched the movies, even played the video games. To bad the IP is probably to well protected. I tried reading Crystal Cadets as a subsitute for a Harry Potter comic, but it's soooo baaaad.

Well, i'm not a very big comic expert, but if you ever find some old Spider-Man comics, give them a try.
Are webcomics valid suggestions?

Ava's Demon. Still good. I still enjoy it.

Maybe Romantically Apocalyptic, as well, although I've heard that one's pretty much dead. The earlier editions are better.

Another one I recommend is "Super Princess". I think its produced by Boom! and by a writer of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers reboot comic series (which is also pretty good, by the way).

If you can get past the somewhat forced "role-swapping", it's a very enjoyable read. The main character is a brash tomboy princess who wants to be a detective and her "loyal stead" is a sassy, back-talking and very rude Horse. The two have great chemistry together and their banter is very amusing. All the other characters are pretty fun too, but the series only has a single issue so not much as been fleshed out as of yet.

I would recommend taking a little look at IDW's Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye.

Isn't that a Newspaper comic? If so, I heard it was good. I started reading this newspaper comic called "Cul-de-sac", it's pretty cute and clever.
