An idea
As a huge fan of Superman, I'll respectively disagree. Although comic book characters personalities vary on the writer and the tone of the story (Notably, Doc Oct being portrayed as a noble guy who protects civilians or a psychopathic murderer), Superman does have a personality.

Despite his immense power and role as the guardian of the Planet, or even Multiverse in some storylines, he doesn't let the power go to his head. He doesn't think he's better then anyone. He considers security guards and good cops to be just as heroic as he is. He's incredibly down to Earth, despite his alien origin. He's compassionate to all kinds of issues, whether it be a girl suffering from depression on the verge of suicide or an actual genocide. I think this quote from Batman sums it up.

"It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then... he shoots fire from the skies and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him."

But at the same time, Superman doesn't have much tolerance for bullshit. His "battle" with the Joker is a perfect example. He tears apart the Joker, figuratively of course. Saying how pathetic he really is, and how he just wants attention, basically calling him an edgy teenager. It's a great scene.

But Superman isn't flawless His flaws come from the fact that he can't save everything d save everyone and that he puts far to much pressure on himself. When he does make a mistake, he often tries to repent for it. After he couldn't stop a mass genocide, he decided to just help people in a more down to Earth manner. Helped get rid of a towns gang problem, helped a lady clean her diner. Sure, the comic kinda sucked, but it showed Superman in a more down to Earth lite.

Can't really speak much for Batman or Wonder Woman. I believe that Batman has been portrayed as the dark and brooding knight since the 70s. I really can't say much about Wonder Woman, I planned on reading her comics awhile back but never got around to it.

The thing is, Marvel and DC are two completely different beast. Whether you like one over the other is completely opinion based. Personally I like aspects of both. I love the X-Men (sans Wolverine) and to a lesser extent, Avengers from Marvel and I love the Teen Titans and Justice League from DC.
