DOOM has removed Denuvo DRM
I wonder how many people will pirate the game for its award winning soundtrack?

Cheapass.

Still, it's good that they removed that malware from the game.

They got their money, so why bother.

inb4 unofficial modding or whatever claim people make, I mean, Rage only had like one mod in the past 3 years.

Unfortunately, our technology is years behind what devs can access, so it'll be like until 2035 when DOOM 4 would have its own Brutal Doom.

Buying games on steam is tbh easier than torrenting them.

In my country we get extortion letters for pirating stuff. They track our IP through the torrent client, get contact info from the ISP and send a letter saying 'pay $1000 or we might sue you'...

Now obviously it's just a business and the letters are sent by organizations that work for these production companies, not by government. It's still messed up to threaten people like that.

I should add that downloading DOOM is now like 70GB, so imagine downloading that amount of data on top of potential security breaches on your computer.

And that's why Steam is so popular. With EA and Ubisoft games though, it's the other way around.

Messed up to threaten people who commit crimes and take part in mass-fraud and sharing of intellectual property owned by others?

What. The. Fuck?

Didn't you say you worked with Copyright laws or something along those lines?

I find it really interesting that someone involved in Copyright would suddenly care so little about enforcing it when broken, especially when you made such a huge fucking deal about it in another group.

I don't think copyright laws are good. They're really bad and outdated. The reason why copyright law is a problem is because they must be followed and you can't really argue against them.

Also I don't think that threatening people with lawsuit is acceptable. Yes, I have a job that is based around copyrights, that doesn't mean I support them as they are.
