You do not have to do anything if you were reported by accident. Now if you have did something against the rules, Steam will take the necessary action.
This applies anywhere on the Internet.
P.S. Steam does not contact you outside of Steam client. Usually it is by the system in place by Steam itself. Yes, you do get emails, but they are mostly automatic emails like thanks for your purchase.
