Not able to access neither my own inventory nor the community market
Hello everyone

So I face this issue when using desktop client for like weeks already, decided to contact Steam Support to fix the problem. Support being "helpful" forced me to write here hoping to get a fix and a proper explanation because what the support employees wrote me was complete nonsense.

So yeah for weeks when I want to open my inventory or community market I get this error

-Sorry!

Don't have such problem when using steam through web browser but should I be forced to use a browser if this simple thing was always working in desktop client?

Would be very thankful for help and clarification of the situation.

You hit an API quota limit. This quota limit is IPv4 based. If restarting your router doesn't help, you'll have to wait it out.

IPv4 addresses are not unique anymore. As there are more humans (8 billion) than IPv4 addresses (4.2 billion), ISPs have chosen to route users together on an identical IPv4 address. This technique is known as CGNAT.

For Valve's community market API this bundled together group of users looks like a single user.

IP Address limiter.

Too many Page requests from the same IP address.

This is now in place to prevent, users with browser add on's, users using search bots, and off site item / skin trading sites from bombarding the Steam Marketplace and user Inventories.

Remember most ISP, issue people a shared IP address. So it does add up quick, to kick in this limiter.

Only thing you can do is to change your IP address.

Try using your cell phone hotspot, if you have that in your plan. call your isp, and upgrade to a static / private IP address assignment.

Reset your Modem or Gateway.
