Nowadays all games are intergrated into a variety of platforms making them able to be played not just by a specific base of users on whatever platform but by all. It's rare to find PC-specific as cross-platform games are what brings in the money for a tonne of publishers and developers.
In regards to Steam sliding away from marketing to PC gamers is due to the fact console gamers can pick up a game hardy PC or Laptop and want to play the games that they'd find on their console. It's all about popularity and again what's available to the market and what's advertised greatly.
Oh my goodness, did I really say that THIRTEEN YEARS AGO !!!... With digging like skills like this you could professionally stalk celebrities
Nah, 4 days doesn't count as a necro. :P
Lol at the necroposting!

In my case, it's just because Steam forums are the busiest. There's a lot of dying boards on console sites. Doesn't have anything to do with Steam itself. Just more discussion here.
>It may be a necro, but is true since this was created many of we console folks came over to Steam due to the platform being much more controller friendly,
I have no idea how a console player could say this. There's no guarantee a game you buy will even work on Steam at all...the last two I got here didn't. Sure, Steam will offer a quick refund but this is a pain compared to consoles where I KNOW a game will play fine the second I buy it. Combined with the fact that Steam offers zero support and requires you to be online for a lot of games that don't need it. And controller support?...I've wrestled for hours with some controllers on here. Another issue that isn't a factor on console. All Steam does is remind me why I'm mostly using a console now.
Many of the newer games i have are played thru Ge Force Now thru their Edge Browser. I never had to upgrade to the new consoles, being i can get the games cheaper here and play them on an Xbox One.
Back when this thread came out, controller support really in its infancy. Now almost everything has controller support, and if not the Steam Interface can give it to us.
In addition, given that fact, i learned Steam and PC gaming are not "out of reach" for those of us on console, being these features abled us to dip into PC gaming.
Given these factors, i upgraded my PC.
And the days the "PC Master Race" were convinced we console players were beneath them in playing games together, learned thru crossplay we can all integrate, even very effectively.
