If you're going to skip from the thing that those hands hold which does the actual destruction to the thing which triggers the destruction, then you may as well go further up the chain, since it's brains that are utilizing hands, or any other appendage, to extend their curiosity and / or will unto the world via destructive means.
But know this... even if you could kill everyone, this cycle would eventually repeat as existence eventually gives rise to the evolution of thinking entities again.
So, not even eliminating brains would stop this.
As long as things exist, there will be destruction and danger.
The very nature of digestion is destructive, and an entity doesn't even need hands OR feet to be able to do that.
Both are tools that do plenty of non-harmful and non-dangerous things,
and those non-destructive activities are actually their primary function.
Furthermore, if someone smashes your head in with a hammer
rather than electrocuting you...you're still dead either way.
