some people's taste and standards never cease to shock me
rough. well, getting a job would be a good start. will keep your mind occupied and give you something to do
As long as you keep it in your head and to yourself, you'll probably be fine. I mean, do I even need to go into detail about what could go wrong given what the first response to the topic was? I mean, maybe... people don't tend to expect those kind of prejudiced responses to turn into criminal charges, because they usually don't ...but sometimes they do. Unless you're going to go all in and take a big risk by trying to start a relationship with this person ...don't even tell people what you're feeling and especially not who you're feeling it for. The domestic crime accusations aren't worth it. ...well, unless paying $8000 in defense attorney fees for a criminal defense that you probably won't (but could) have to go through is just pocket change to you ...then maybe it might be worth the risk even if you're not all that invested in these feelings.
Not working is just as bad because people hate those on a benefit, I have a legitimate reason why I'm not working but that doesn't stop the hate.
Plus i worked out how much min wage earns a week and it was about twice as much as i get now.
If they kick me off a benefit I'll try and get a job at the local supermarket, i may have computer skills but I'd prefer a less stressful job.
Unemployment is still slightly better than one such that you get mistreated / abused so bad that it leaves you with permanent trauma or even physical injuries or death. ...unless you're maybe fed up with living but even then, if you're ready to throw your life away, you shouldn't be throwing it away so that someone who doesn't even respect you can make a few extra bucks off of your labor.
Anyways, it goes beyond that. Trying to get someone to respect you who doesn't even see you as a person until you have a fancy enough suit or big enough paycheck is a mistake - such a person will never truly respect you. ...and using a job as a distraction... is risky business.Have some standards for yourself and do something you can take pride in, whether it be a BETTER job or even just local volunteer work. ...unless you hate your community then idk... maybe non-local volunteer work.
I'm not saying not to try and make your life better but put some thought into what "better" actually is - because jobs hold A LOT of liabilities and uninsured (or ready-to-be-denied) risks of harm for lowly employees. If a woman can't accept you for being a janitor then you don't need her ...but also, maybe try not to be the janitor because corporate sees such people as great fall guys / scapegoats and useful human resources to dispose of in order to maintain appearances.
