congratulations :)
Did you already take it to the vet?
I adopted a stray hamster once. Caught it, accidently got it smashed on amphetamine. It survived till morning and when I asked all the neighbours if they had lost a hamster they all said no.

So I went to town, crashed my car while on a comedown from the amphetamines and spent money I owed out for drugs on hamster cage and food and stuff.

My dealer wasn't quite sure how to react when I told him what I had spent his money on, but he respected me for going to tell him face to face.

The hamster was a female, I called her Butch and had her for 7 years.
Don’t know much about owning a pet but make sure you

1 microchip
2 insure it
2.5 vaccinations (bet they’re safer than human vaccines looo.. i cant sop with this political stuff)
3 love it?

Kitties need looking after. They need your help to survive in this world.

Also, get it snipped. Male kitties start to fight when they get older, and they can get horrific wounds. Better to get them snipped now so that's less likely to happen.

I took on a stray cat once. Actually the owner moved out and abandoned her but she kept visiting me each night as she wanted food and shelter.

Both the males and females will also spray all over stuff if those parts are still active - which is not great if you're bringing them into your house and have anything you don't want feline crotch spray all over. It's not pee... it's... something else. It's part of "territory marking". 🤢
...they don't do this when spayed and neutered
...unless that part bounces back, which can sometimes happen.

It was a hamster and it did live with me for 7 years. And she was an adult when I found her. The last couple of years she would have strokes and be paralysed at the back end for a day or two, but she always recovered.
I'm happy for the kitten - it's always heartwarming to witness how homeless, weary, and forgotten animals can flourish into gorgeous, beautiful companions when given care and love. Since you found the kitten on the street, there's a high chance it could get sick. If you're serious about keeping it, you should take it for a check-up and make sure it gets all the necessary vaccinations :tabbycat:
