Probably because I was bored and unlike my brother I didn't get to do anything or go anywhere because my mother never let me do anything on my own, and so I acted out more than I normally did.

I don't recommend doing that though. I recommend finding something less dangerous and more constructive to do. Also, if this is about wanting to harm yourself then I recommend talking to someone about it and getting some help as that is seriously not healthy.

Haven't since 2018, but considering the first time I tried to kill myself was around 1996 and the first time I engaged in self-flagellation to perhaps stave off the beatings that would follow for me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up was around 1999 I was like that for a while.

Oh, if you just want an amusing jolt of current touch your tongue to both terminals of a standard 9v battery.

I'd say electro-stim but often these tools / toys are designed to maximize pain while minimizing deadliness.

Well... to do it safely, keep the shocks away from your heart and preferably on the right side of your body (since the heart is on the left) unless your internal organs are backwards and your heart is actually on your right instead but for most people it's on their left.

If current flows through your arm, it will likely exit via the shortest path on the same side, so via your leg. If you're ever working on potentially live wires, this is why you should keep your left arm behind your back, if possible, and work primarily with your right arm.

I shocked myself while repairing a wireless gamepad with a charged battery and it was quite a feeling. Just the right amount to want to do it again but I decided I'd better not.

it was for something else but then getting zapped is probably better than the usual cutting anyway, less chance of infection, maybe.
