As someone from that generation, I'm offended.
Old people tend to be annoying and preachy, true, but to say:
"they decided to ruin it all for their own selfish gain."
I mean... dude... come on haha really?
But what really annoy's me with older folk is the total lack of understanding how current economics work. They all say in my day, I had a job, I was married, had kids and had a house all by the age 20.
OK Albert, in your day, house prices were affordable, costs of living were affordable, granted wages weren't the best but life was mostly affordable even for one person working while his wife stayed at home looking after the kids.
Even back in the early/mid 90's... I could buy a 3 bedroom terrace house in the northwest of England for under £10,000 ($14,000). My yearly income was about £12,000 by then and was well within my means. I even viewed a new build with 2 beds, garden, driveway and space for £36,000, still within my means.
Fast forward to 2025, same houses are well over £100k and £250k but wages not touching £22k per year... you see the problem here. Combine with higher taxes, higher costs of living etc, it's simply not working for most people at the moment. Work hard, 2 thirds of your wage goes on rent, rest goes on food, bill and living and no extra for saving.
Mhmmm, if you say so.
Gen X are surprisingly pretty chill, but the real rude ones are the millennial's. I guess it’s because half of them are trying to start a family, but the fact that most of them will never own a house or be able to fully support their kids just seems to make them all aggy. I’ve seen multiple millennial's act like it’s the end of the world when they accidentally get charged an extra £2 for something keeping in mind they’re going to get it back.
Idk man I think every generation has ♥♥♥♥♥ maybe the younger generations being the most vocal.
Blame your money hungry coperations and politicians that made your life that way. Also dont vote for a president that has no interrest in your own generation and is a known liar. That would fix 20% of your money problems.
