Does it matter - Game Time
Does it matter how long it takes to finish a game?.

Say a game for example is 10 hours long. Person A finishes it in 9h 45 person B finishes it in 10h 15 person C takes longer and finishes it in 16-38 hours. I don't think it matters to be honest, as person C still finished the game like person A did. Did person A get a Gold Medal for finishing in under 10 hours? No.

So I wonder does it matter how long it takes to finish a game. You don't have to rush through a game in my opinion.

For me, it never has and never will. Some games are so big now, it can take hundreds of hours for one play through. Stalker 2 as an example, took me over 100 hours for one game, and I still have 3 more endings to see :steamhappy:

Take your time, enjoy your game!

Yeah I think it doesnt matter myself either. If a game took Person A 10 hours and tits a 10 hour game, I dont' think it matters if it took person B 20 hours, they still finished the game as like Person A. Person didnt get a gold star so I dont think it matters.

I prefer to take my time in games now rather than rush through them :)
thanks for your comments

well, I couldn't care less that someone called you slow. what's the point of this?
I play games at my own pace, be it rushing or taking my sweet time, who cares lmao
No one called me slow I was just curious and wanted to see other gamers thoughts.
it was a discussion on game times and what others think

Funny you mention a "gold medal heh" some games do have achievs along the lines of "beat the game in under x hours" i never bothered with those myself, dislike having a timer in general. Would have enjoyed dead rising more without it. :TOIlogo:
I prefer shorter games that respect my time and deliver a deep emotional impact. Too often, developers hide a lack of substantial content behind grindy progression systems or a massive, empty open world

Unless you are speed running it doesn't matter, there are several games with hidden easter eggs to which you have to spend time finding, i personally find it somewhat fun discovering them so i take normally quite longer to finish a game.

I also like to study games mechanics without guides and that means lots of staring at the screen to check stuff without actually progressing in the game much. Even on replays which i don't do right after a clear i prefer the casual approach rather than speed running it.
Oh yeah Ive seen those, like Elypse i think it says beat the game in under 3 hours. I hate having a timer too so I dont care howl long it takes me to finish a gmae, whether I walk it and take my time or run parts. So what if it takes me 40 hours to beat a long game etc.
Im playing Final Fantasy 13-2 for the first time and loving it so getting used to the mechanics etc
gonna take my time with that

oh yes funny you mention open empty worlds, I think Starocean was like that, but it ended up jerky framerate too LOL despite the nice detail and open world areas with hardly any enemies.
I like shorter games too around 5-10 hours like Cloudpunk etc (10 hours)

I can't stand speed running in games just to hurry up and finish them. I like to take my time too and enjoy the gameplay, story and the cutscenes (assumingt he game has them)
I am playing FF13-2 I really like it so gonna take my time on that one
