Do you pity billionaires as much as I do?
Seriously you have no idea they suffer...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjsMnvqL7eY

There's a point of which money can bring happiness... it's called being financial wealthy... it's went money no longer needs to control you. You have enough to pay your bill, not be in dept and not just live from paycheck to paycheck... yet some go beyond that and just suffer accordingly... never having time to even live their life or enjoy the money.

It's rather sad in fact. They are what is know in the bible as vampires, not blood suckers, but rather leeches off others.

It must suck being a billionaire? I don't wish it on my worst enemy.

I honestly think the bible even warns about it as so-called vampires... not what the movies assume them to be, but rather they can not stop craving money and profit, till the point they are even living or enjoying it. It's rather just leeching without a cause.

Common like set aside some time for your family or friends, to enjoy what you got. Why would you like need to be the best of whatever... if you never even use it.

idk, but there should be a limit on how much money one can earn/have (net, assets, banks, stocks, etc..).

There also needs to be a strict law where they are required to use fair portions of their wealth for very good cause in humanity.

Some people are just too filthy rich and are sitting stagnant on wayyyyyyy tooooooo much money, and all for what?!?!? Are they waiting to take it to hell with them?

It's obviously NOT doing the world any good right now while they aren't spending it for good cause, is it?
A lot of money and resources is being wasted.
I don't pity them at all... :lunar2019deadpanpig:

I personally pity them... It's a cycle you don't wanna live. Being a billionaire is ironically rather depressing. Not that I would fully know, becoming a millionaire is more than enough for me. I just don't feel you become satisfied with what you got. The more you have the more you want.

Power and money corrupts, so lets limit how much you can own.

I think the reasons for wanting that much money would be to have more power and influence. Or maybe they developed a certain personality on their way getting that much money and they don't want to stop.
If you've got that kind of money, you can do anything you want to. There's nothing to be depressed about.

Go restore that old classic vehicle, go visit every special location in the world, go become that business owner, go help save the banana from becoming extinct... whatever you want to do.

Not having to worry about the bills being paid, your rent being due, the in-ability to fund repairs to your car when the turbo gives out.. yeah, none of that is depressing when you've got the money.

If you're depressed with money, then i'd look deep inside and ask yourself why you haven't found something you enjoy doing yet, and that's a you problem, not a money one.

I think what he was trying to get at was people spending all their time trying to get more money.

I think of them more in systems engineering terms.

A bit. They have some sort of compulsion to contribute more than their fair share to society. The average american only spends 3.3 million during their lifetime, and high life expenses don't come up to a billion dollars. There is no particular need for a single person to have more than a few hundred million dollars, even if they want to live it up, and there comes a point in time where you're putting your loved ones on the backburner just to make an on-paper number bigger.

I disagree. The act of earning money is supposed to to represent doing some form of social service, so you're merely putting a limit on the states' productivity if you do that.

There also needs to be a strict law where they are required to use fair portions of their wealth for very good cause in humanity.

There already is. It's called taxation. In the U.S.A. the top 1% pays 40.4%[taxfoundation.org] of all taxes. Thing is, if you tax a person too much, it won't be worthwhile to earn more, and then you stifle their productivity and lose tax revenue.

Can' tell somebody how to spend their money once it's in their possesion free and clear of taxes, or at least you shouldn't be able to do so.

Some people are just too filthy rich and are sitting stagnant on wayyyyyyy tooooooo much money, and all for what?!?!? Are they waiting to take it to hell with them?

Bury me with my money.

More seriously though, money doesn't just disappear upon death. There's a thing called inheritance, and it's not even restricted to your immediate or extended family, and the state will reclaim cash through Escheatment[www.investor.gov] if somebody dies without any heirs.

you know when blockbuster gets raided every time a sale comes around?

That's what it's like being a billionaire except being the billionaire is the thing 7 billion people are after. and guess what? statistically 359 million businesses exist so it's more like 7-8 billion requests for money.

Lets say, every person made three requests each....that's ~20 billion requests.

so no. I think being a billionaire would be my dream job!
Some very good points being made here.
