Mr Trump does not want to stop at Kimmel. ALL licenses critical to him, Revoked.
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/09/18/trump-floats-stripping-networks-critical-of-him-of-their-broadcast-licenses-00571953

"President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that networks should lose their broadcast licenses if their on-air talent is critical of him.

“They’re giving me all this bad press, and they’re getting a license,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when asked if Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr should go after other talk show hosts after Jimmy Kimmel was suspended from the air. “I would think maybe their license should be taken away.”

"He added: “When you have a network and you have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump, that’s all they do — that license, they’re not allowed to do that. They’re an arm of the Democrat Party.”

Not going to pretend that I'm surprised
State run Media, Mr Trump?

Most of what those networks do is easily proven to be false information. And as far as licensing goes, for over air broadcasting, there is limited capacity for channels. It is up to government to manage that limited resource. If networks are just spamming libel and fraud, they have always risked losing their license over it, to make room for others.

I see, so no more Freedoms of Speech or Freedoms of the Press, if only because the FCC has "limited capacity".

Stay AWAY from our MEDIA, Mr Trump :steamfacepalm:

Didn't hevrequire Verizon to end antidiscrimination policies to receive government approval for a merger?

Did you not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ listen? There's LIMITED AIRWAVE SPACE. Not everybody gets to broadcast over the air, over a cable line, or on radio. FCC revoking someone's license doesn't mean they can't produce content, or monetize, it means the space on limited airwaves is going to be given to someone better. You do not have a constitution right to broadcast radiowaves on any frequency you want.

That is your excuse for Trumps stance on these matters? Did you not read what he said? Please tell me you're joking.

But something tells me, you are not.

I remember when people blew a gasket at Biden wanting to make a "Ministry of Truth".

Now those same people are cheering it on under Trump.

Amazing.

I'm sure in your mind where all you seem to possess is a mirror, that would be true to you. But that's not the reality. There's no both sides. There's no "but the other side does it." Kimmel lost his job because his network could no longer tolerate his ♥♥♥♥. I know you people didn't actually watch him either or else his ratings wouldn't have been so terrible. And there's a pretty big different than Biden's little ministry which suggested punishment of individuals for saying the wrong thing.

Trump has made no such threats, and networks do not have any kind of right, constitutional, or otherwise, to airwave space. If you tried to broadcast on a reserve airwave right now, you'd be arrested, and your equipment would be forfeited. It's not a violation of some nonexistent right you think you have.

It's going to be quite interesting when the political pendulum swings, as it always does.

Mr Trump won in 2016, followed by a Blue Wave in 2018, lost in 2020, and we have rinsed repeat.

The Democrats will now take the House this time next year, and they will likely win in 2028.

What shall Ms Cortez, or Mr Newsom, or others with a majority congress do to our conservative friends?

Shall they yank the licensies of conservative broadcasts? Label them as Alt Right Terror Organizations?

Threaten to sue YT unless they ouster Megan Kelly and other far right flame throwers on that and other platforms?

Stack the courts? Send Troops into Red States under the guise of a National Emergency given the gun violence at our schools and "only checking to assure" these are not terror cells owning guns?

Shall they deem Mr Kirk a Fascist, and pardon the murderer?

I just wonder how this pandoras box will be closed.

Just like that jobs report lady who got fired for Trump's own poor performance, ICE Agents, Trump Tariffs and DOGE cuts affecting massive job lost. Oops, the job report then went into the negatives after she got fired... I guess she was nudging it a little higher than it really was?

US New Media in the future will be, oh so scary, to report anything on Trump's Autocracy America... they will turn into Fox news... all just pretending he's doing a great job.

So...we can also offline FOX News, OANN, and Newsmax?

I mean, that whole Dominion suit kinda indicates all three channels peddled libelous claptrap about the 2020 election, so by your logic...

Roflmao, the left ain't taking ♥♥♥♥ after their hate mongering resulted in a the murder of a major political figure. Even major networks are tired of hearing the left's ♥♥♥♥ now, and tons of people in the public eye are turning against them. And Kirk's murderer will probably get the death penalty. There's no possibility of the federal government pardoning a state convicted person.

I like how you're latching onto the whole "They gotta make airwave space!" while completely ignoring the fact they are wanting to target networks who are critical of the current admin.

Would you be making this same excuse if Biden made such a comment?
